Although it is not the only organization the Little Genesee church supports, the Faith Orphanage Foundation is one that is near to our hearts. You can read a little bit about the work they do for orphans in Zambia below or in this more detailed adobe acrobat file. If you'd like to know the more personal side to the work, we have another document you can download and read.
Faith Orphanage Foundation
Mission Statement: To endeavor to meet the holistic needs of orphaned children in Zambia to enable them to have a chance in life, and in doing so break the cycle of HIV/AIDS and the resulting poverty.
Overview: Faith Orphanage Foundation (FOF) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-denominational Christian organization started in 1993 that is committed to assisting the orphaned children in Zambia. Through extensive community support programs, FOF provides registered orphans with the basic needs indicative to personal growth: a loving home environment, a solid education, practical skills, and the chance to fulfill their God given potential. FOF also assists them with material needs such as food, clothes and medical care as necessary. Sponsored children are living in family situations and have access to Christian teaching through village orphan centers and churches. FOF enables children and teens to participate in programs where they can develop valuable life-skills that in turn promotes selfsufficiency and confronts malnutrition and other health and social problems. Recognized as being the foremost orphan-care facilitator throughout the Northwest and Copperbelt provinces of Zambia, FOF, in collaboration with dedicated sponsors, is committed to confronting the plight of our precious children.
